HOW DOES IT WORK

Here at St. John Fisher Catholic College, we offer instrumental tuition to all students.

We have highly trained peripatetic teachers from the Entrust Music Service Staffordshire and privately employed teachers who come into school on a weekly basis to teach our pupils.

We offer a choice of instruments and pupils also have the opportunity of playing in the school ensembles and Newcastle Music Centre groups (run by Entrust).

COST

£7.35 per lesson = 34 lessons of 20 mins IN A PAIR lessons

£12.50 per lesson = 34 lessons of 20 mins PRIVATE lessons

This can be paid by MONTHLY INSTALLMENTS or PAID IN FULL AT THE START OF THE YEAR

INSTRUMENTS

Pupils can choose from a wide range of instruments including:

WOODWIND

  • Flute
  • Clarinet
  • Oboe
  • Bassoon
  • Saxophone

BRASS

  • Trumpet
  • Trombone
  • Euphonium
  • French Horn
  • Tuba

STRINGS

  • Violin
  • Viola
  • Cello  
  • Double Bass
  • Guitar
  • Bass Guitar
  • Ukulele

PERCUSSION

  • Drum Kit
  • Tuned Percussion
  • Piano
  • Voice

Pupils can use their own instruments or can hire standard instruments FOR FREE from Entrust Music Service Staffordshire.

ENSEMBLES

  • We currently have both a Wind Band and Orchestra that instrumentalist can be a part of.
  • We also have other ensembles including Choir, Brass Ensemble, Swing Band and String Group, Brass Group and The Flutinis.
  • We have regular school concerts and shows. Also, the Wind Band tours every two years, recently visiting Belgium, Paris, Salzburg and Valkenburg.
