Dear parents and carers,
I am writing to ask you to consider becoming a member of the school’s PTFA which makes a substantial difference to the education and facilities provided for all learners here at St John Fisher Catholic College.
The PTFA was launched in the summer of 2017 and to date we have raised over £2,500 for the school. We have held numerous events such as discos, tombolas, table top sales, regular raffles at parent’s evening, donations through easyfundraising.com and, this year, our successful 100 club. Thank you to all those who have supported us at any of these events.
This year, we also introduced more family-friendly events, such as the Manchester Christmas market shopping trip which was great fun. We also had a coach booked for a day out at the seaside and a Quiz Night arranged. Unfortunately, COVID-19 prevented these from happening.
So far, we have sponsored a wide range of resources from Drama costumes to a cooler for the DT 3D printer. Each year we aim to make a difference to the lives of the learners, making regular hardship payments to Sixth Form learners enabling them to stay in full-time education.
We are a small group of teachers, parents and friends of the school who meet once a term to discuss new fundraising events and requests for funds. We often meet at 4:30p.m. on a Wednesday night but attendance at all the meetings is not compulsory. Neither is it necessary that you are Catholic or indeed any faith. At the meetings, we also share out supervision at fundraising events such as the summer raffles at primary school fetes.
I hope that you consider joining the PTFA and assist us in growing from strength to strength. If you would like to receive more information, please do not hesitate in contacting me on the school number below.
Your faithfully,
Ms Rogers
Assistant Headteacher
