Dear parent or guardian,
I am writing to ask you to consider becoming a member of the school’s PTFA which makes a substantial difference to the education and facilities provided for all students here at SJF.
The PTFA was launched by myself in the summer of 2017 and so far we have raised just over £1500 for the school. We have held numerous events such as lower school disco’s, tombola’s, table top sales and regular raffles the parent’s evening- thank you for those who have supported us at any of these events!
So far we have sponsored a whole school art competition, paid half towards the mirrors in the dance studio, paid for bereavement counselling and resources, as well as buying an x-box for a lunchtime club. In our second year we have made donations to numerous departments to help them to provide the “little extras” that budgets are not capable of doing anymore such as funds towards the costumes at the Midsummer Nights Dream performance and a DT 3D printer cooler.
Our long term aim is to buy more outdoor gym equipment but we are committed to using our funds to make a difference to the school community and so are working slowly to build out bigger pot up.
We try to meet once a term about 4:30pm ish but agendas can be arranged over email and we tend to “trash ideas out” this way as not everyone can make the meetings. Also please do not think you have to be Catholic or religious to attend- you don’t! Neither do you have to attend every meeting and every event that we hold, the more members we have the more events can be shared around!
If you would like to receive more information about the PTFA then please do not hesitate to contact me on the school numbers below.
I look forward to welcoming you soon to the PTFA
Your faithfully,
Ms Rogers
Assistant Headteacher
