As the new DofE School Manager it has been wonderful to look through the exciting activities which our 80 learners who are taking part in their Bronze Award have been doing over the past few months. New skills being learnt include creative activities of film making and crochet along with a wide variety of music and dance. Several learners have chosen cooking as their skill and some of the photographs of dishes created are mouth-watering. It is very encouraging to read of the voluntary work being done with uniformed organisations, charity shops and animal groups with learners giving their time to help in their local community. Physical activities cover both individual and team sports with many learners also working to improve their fitness through walking to help with their expeditions in the summer term.
Can I please encourage all learners who have signed up to DofE to:
- log onto your eDofE account and check information is up to date
- decide which activities you are going to do (especially for 6 months)
- consider which adult (not a family member) can assess you for each section
- start your activities if you have not already done so
Any messages about meetings will be posted onto DofE Teams and individual messages will be sent via school email, so it is important to check these each week. There is also information on the DofE website https://www.dofe.org/
If you have any questions or queries then please email me at email@example.com and I will do my best to help.
