Dear Parent / Carer
I am delighted to inform you that the St John Fisher Catholic College Outdoor Gym will be officially launched this week. We have a fantastic three-day event planned which will involve the whole of Year 7 and Year 8 taking part in form-group sessions run by the PE faculty and supported by a Personal Trainer from Bee Active.
The outdoor gym equipment has been sourced through the school’s Covid grant and is aimed at promoting leaner wellbeing and supporting their mental health as they return to school. Some lessons have already begun using this facility and learner feedback has been overwhelmingly positive.
We are also delighted to announce that on Friday, our local MP, Mr Aaron Bell will be coming to officially open the Outdoor Gym. This is a great privilege and will be promoted via our school social media platforms as well as other local and wider publications.
The event will be taking place Wednesday 24th March to Friday 26th March and the below table shows which form groups will be involved on each day. For their allocated day, learners are required to wear FULL SCHOOL PE KIT. (Expectations of this can be found in the learners’ planners as well as on our school website) If you are having any issues with sourcing PE kit items, please get in touch.

There will be a lot of publicity surrounding this event which will involve photographs/images being taken of the learners taking part in the launch. Please can you email me to confirm you give PERMISSION FOR PHOTOGRAPHS AND FIRST NAMES to be used (for use in the school newsletter, social media outlets, radio interview, newspaper story etc.).
I’m sure you will agree that this will be a fantastic event to launch our wonderful equipment which will be pivotal in enhancing learners’ fitness of both the body and mind, and support the wellbeing of our learners at St John Fisher.
Please do not hesitate to get in touch with me if you have any questions or need any further information about the event.
Many thanks
