“Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire” Catherine of Siena. St John Fisher Catholic College Mission – 19th and 20th July 2017
I am writing to inform you that we are celebrating the Catholic Life of our school community by re-energising the school mission statement “Christ’s Way, His Truth, Your Life”.
To this end all staff and students will be preparing different parts of the final celebration of the Mass on Thursday 19th July. The Mass will take place on Friday 20th July.
Our focus for these mission days is to introduce the tag line “Be who God meant you to be and you will set the world on fire”.
Some of the activities required on Thursday 19th July will be active and therefore students should wear their school PE Kit. The usual hair, jewellery and make-up rules will apply.
We are extremely fortunate to have a number of our local clergy coming into celebrate the Mass on Friday 20th July which will also be said in thanksgiving to the staff who are leaving us this summer.
The organisation of this day is very different. Mass will begin promptly at 12 noon and it is intended that the pupils will be allowed to leave the school for the summer holidays at 2.00 p.m. Pupils should wear their school uniform on Friday 20th July.
If you would like to attend the Mass on Friday 20th July, please let Miss Reed or Miss Megyesi know so we can accommodate you.
If you would like your child to remain on site until 3.15 p.m. please contact Miss Megyesi so we can make appropriate arrangements.
On the Friday, there will be an earlier morning break and hot food will be available from the canteen. Please note the canteen will close at the end of the morning break. If your child is in receipt of a Free School Meal please contact Miss Reed to arrange a packed lunch for them to collect at break time. Please note that absence from school on these dates due to illness will require supporting medical evidence.
